Request: input from Balkans for "5000 Concepts for Europe"

dear all,

last December I launched a "provocation" or even a game, if you will,
to collaboratively build a mini-encyclopedia of the "5000 concepts
that EVERY european should know". The rationale and details of the
idea are in this post:

http://stop.zona-m.net/2017/12/5000-concepts-for-europe-a-book-proposal

The suggestions received so far are here:

http://stop.zona-m.net/2018/02/5000-concepts-for-europe-update-2018/02/02/

and I am 1000% sure that that list still misses MANY things that every
Italian, French, German citizen should know about Balkan/East Europe
countries and their history, culture, etc... But only YOU can fill
such a void. I t is EXTREMELY important to receives informed
suggestions ALSO from/about Balkan countries, and Eastern Europe in
general. And you are the best community I know that could help me with
this.

So I am writing to "officially" ask you all to:

- contribute your suggestions, through the form linked in those posts

- actively share and promote this invitation to contribute as much as
you can, especially, but not only, around Balkans/Eastern Europe.

If you want, you may also translate the first post above in any
european language you can, and let me know the corresponding link

If you have any concern or doubt about the project, just ask, of course.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Marco

I will contribute some. You have probably seen Wikipedia list of articles of the type 1,000 articles every Wikipedia must have.

thanks Arianit, I'm really looking forward to your (and everybody else
here, of course) contributions.

I vaguely remember that I have *read* somewhere about articles of the
type you mention, but have not seen any those articles yet. Of course,
the idea is nothing new, in and by itself, it's the *type* of list
that makes it more or less interesting.

For the record: I am **well** aware that this "game" can be
manipulated, that is that fanatics of ANY ideology may fill the form
with entries that make their vision look the most relevant, valid,
widely accepted...

But that is part of the game. I explicitly acknowledge that this is a
provocation whose actual result should NOT be considered THE valid
list to use, but just as a stimulus for everybody to get really
informed.

Later,
Marco
