MiniDebConf Prishtina video download link

Hi all,

The raw video and audio files are here:

https://sreview.debian.net/video/raw

Would anybody be interested in helping to edit them with Kdenlive,
Blender or something similar?

Regards,

Daniel

A rough set of steps for editing:

extra the audio from the *.MOV file

process both audio sources (from the camera and from the lapel mic)
using bs1770gain

add the lapel mic audio in to the video, synchronize it to the camera
audio track by matching the peaks

mute the camera audio track

find the points where people in the audience ask questions and unmute
the camera audio at those moments

identify the exact start and stop points within the video (maybe cut a
few seconds from the beginning and end)

consider cropping the video to zoom in on yourself

export it in a compressed format such as WebM for distribution on the web

Daniel

You can use mpv with this plugin to select the cut points for the audio
and video.

Call the plugin like this.

Once you have the times, you crop like this, though the command will be
different because the audio needs to be added.

Did anyone take a copy of the videos from Daniel?

I have the SD cards.

I can help with kdenlive. I have some questions though.

  1. I am downloading the videos and voice files right now, but it is horribly slow. Uploading must have been a lot worse.
  2. Do we have any logos to superimpose?
  3. Is there a good WAV to TXT service for generating subtitles?
  4. I have a NextCloud server at http://dav.iCloudExtra.com/cloud . It has 1 Gpbs fiber connection to Level3 internet backbone. It should make working with such big files more fun. If you want to use it I allocated 1TB space for user ‘flossk’ with password ‘flossk2017’. Enjoy.

Agron,

Thanks a lot for the cloud account. As for how long can we count on using it?

I went ahead and changed the password, will share it with members later or create accounts in flossk group.

I see there is also a “tx” user with unlimited storage, who created this user?

Thanks,

Altin

You can keep it for ever. Right now I allocated 1TB for everyone in flossk group. If you need more space i will allocate more as I add more storage equipment.

I removed the tx account, however flossk account is the admin for the flossk group so you can add as many accounts as you want.

Thanks,

//Agroni

That is awesome, and more than we need. Thank you so much!!

I've used http://subtitle-horse.com/ a couple of times. You might give
it a shot to see if it fits your needs.
