I think that’s enough time. Stuff tends to happen especially last-minute
here compared to what I am otherwise used to.
May I forward this to general@lists.flosk.org? Or you can.

Daniel,
I think MiniDebConf is an an excellent idea and I think we have two very important topics for that conference to begin with:
Inclusion of Kosovo in Debian list of countries, bug https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=872867#105
Adding Debian mirrors in Kosovo to the official Debian list of mirrors.
Thanks,
//Agron
Thanks for filing that bug Agron. It’s great!
Here’s few more arguments I posted here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=733417
A.
The original bug was filed by Daniel, I just added one artcle to support him.
I personally have no particular interest in Debian, but I note some
related topics that have been discussed or that I could present.
We could also install OpenStack or some similarly frivolous (for us)
software on a bunch of old computers that were donated to the
hackerspace. Running old x86 computers is often more expensive than
purchasing new ARM computers (because of electricity), but these old
computers would still be useful as an infrequently used toy cluster.
I don't really use Debian nor dpkg, but I would be happy to talk
packaging systems other than dpkg. I am most familiar with OpenBSD
ports, SlackBuilds, Python packages, and R packages, and I know a little
bit about Nix packages and Arch packages. Related, I could discuss
my personal configuration management.

I personally would like to learn more about how terminals (TTYs) and
pseudoterminal interfaces (PTYs) work, as I mentioned a few weeks ago
to this mailing list.
Mini DebConf talks don't all have to be about something highly specific
to Debian, they can include a range of topics incidental to Debian.
For example, I've given talks about SDR at Debian events because we have
many hams in Debian.
Another topic that is very relevant is the launch of the Albanian
language translation:
and we could ask for Debian funds to bring somebody from Tirana to talk
about that work.
For the Outreachy and GSoC projects that I've mentioned, while I
mentored many projects for Debian, I'm quite happy to help applicants
who want to apply for other free software communities. For example, if
somebody from Kosovo wants to apply for Outreachy or GSoC with Mozilla,
GNOME or Fedora, I'm happy to answer questions for them too.
The big thing we really need to do to make this happen is picking a
venue: would the hackerspace be big enough, or would it be more
practical to use a room at the university or another location? During
my visit in July I gave a talk in the basement of the ICK, their room
appears big enough for about 100 people.
Regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel,
What would the mini DebConf include? Can we give input to your program? An announced a week ahead would be enough.
AAB is not one othe larger tech universities here. I guess some individual.
Arianit
A Mini-DebConf is almost like an unconference, so it is very flexible
We can simply create a wiki page for it - I just did - and people can
propose talks related to Debian or free software
https://wiki.debian.org/DebianEvents/ks/2017/MiniDebConfPrishtina
When you try to create a wiki account, it will probably give you an
error. You just send an email to the address it gives you and your
email address will then be white-listed for account creation.
Regards,
Daniel
