accounting software for FLOSSK

Hi all,

What floss accounting software would you recommend for FLOSSK?

Preferably web-based, doesn’t have to be double entry accounting, should be able to assign revenues and expenses on project basis.

We like the way Akounting does things but it’s kinda buggy https://akaunting.com/

Our accountant is familiar with QuickBooks.

Thanks,

Arianit

It might be a good idea to start by making a list of all requirements:

- inputs (receipts, bank statements, any automated/electronic sales)

- outputs - reports, payments, etc

- other things: users, hardware resources, skills (e.g. PostgreSQL)

Then you can compare that to the feature sets of different products

You can also mix-and-match different products or make a customized web
form for expense requests and then find a way to insert the data into
the system you choose through an API.

I made this blog some time ago:

Postbooks recently stopped providing a free/open source version of their
software.

At the place I’m working we are using InvoiceNinja and are quite happy with it: https://www.invoiceninja.com/.

I agree that it is important to define what it is needed because different software target different situations. CCing Boris who has more info on the technical side of it.

Hope this helps.

Redon, thanks for sharing that. This is the open source version:

Maybe I should add it to my table or maybe I should move my table to a
wiki where we can all hack on it.

Daniel

Thank you Daniel and Redon.

This one also looks interesting https://www.odoo.com/page/accounting

Odoo and Tryton have the same origins, they are both based on the old
OpenERP, but Tryton is more easily available in packages
